At HANDWICH, located in the heart of Thessaloniki, the vegan cuisine is anything but ordinary. Diners rave about their delightful pastries and sandwiches, which have received high praise from diverse customers, both vegan and non-vegan alike. Another highlight is their remarkable selection of pies, which one enthusiastic reviewer labels as the best they've ever tasted, surpassing traditional options.
Customer experiences reveal a consistent thread of quality and flavor. Many describe the dishes as full of seasoning and variety, making it hard to believe they’re completely plant-based. The affectionate service from Anatoli adds to the charm, contributing a personal touch that resonates with patrons. Overall, HANDWICH is recognized as a top spot for delicious, accessible vegan junk food with an authentic Greek twist.
I'm not a vegan, however I stumbled upon this place a couple of days ago and I was amazed by the quality of its pastries and pies. The taste was amazing, so much so that I couldn't believe that it was vegan. Would definitely recommend!
This place is delicious - for everyone, not just the vegans :) we ate here twice across three days, we had the same two sandwiches both times. The souvlaki and the tun-nah were both great. The pita is soft and there is the perfect among if crunch with the veggies. It’s also a cheap eats option. 10/10 The also have a variety savory Greek pastries, which we haven’t tried (yet).
I am blown away by this fantastic place. If you are vegan, go, support and enjoy! If you are not, you will love it and feel better after your meal. We had the Gyro and The Bear with fries. We also took home some of their pies. The sandwiches were full of flavor and texture and the pita was so good. Really one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. They even have things to take home and cook yourself. The service was fantastic, just one person making everything and she did it with kindness and efficiency. Her name is Anatoli, and she even offered to help my daughter with anything she needs while here in the city for school. What a lovely experience whether you are vegan or not, you will love this place and the food made with love. Thank you for being a bright light in the world!
One of the best vegan spots, especially for those looking for junk food options. There are plenty of sandwich choices, although some weren’t available. The bread is amazing and the filling was rich. My favorite is the Ceasars. Epic! The only downside is the lack of seating space — there are only two stands. There are options for vegan breakfast with traditional Greek pitas
Whoooow !!!! I decided to write a review for those amazing pies because I'm not a vegan and I was amazed with the taste and quality. There is no reason to try other pie products with animal origin content when those are available. Best pies I've ever had anywhere, and I've been travelling the world for quite some time now. Recommended 100%!
Absolutely fantastic food we had Gyros handwich (pictured) and Caesar's handwich and both were delicious. I always look for vegan spots when travelling and this place is such a gem! I wish I lived closer
Wonderfully filling and tasty food, with many of the ingredients homemade, including the bread. So good to have fully Greek vegan street food
Incredible food with a variety of options, including various sandwiches, gyros and pies/pastries. Vegans and non-vegans alike will find something to love about this place. Wish we could stay longer to try everything on the menu! Very friendly staff too and prompt service. The only thing is it’s on a main road and only has a small seating area, so probably better enjoyed as take away or when it’s not too busy :) The food is absolutely worth trying though!
